We have been working closely with the Lake County Sheriff’s Major Crime Unit for the past 24 hours to investigate a potential threat posted on social media. They have found no credible threat to any Lake County school. The message appears to have been a post that went viral nationwide, beginning a few days ago. To support our students, we will continue to have law enforcement present on our high school campus throughout the day.
We are thankful to the students who did the right thing and immediately reported the potential threat to adults. We are also grateful for our partnership with the Lake County Sheriff’s Department, the Clearlake Police Department, and Lake County Emergency Operations and Probation for their quick response and support. The safety of our students and staff remains our first priority.
