Statewide K-12 Indoor Masking Mandate Ends After March 11
Governor Gavin Newsom has ended the statewide indoor masking requirement for K-12 schools as of 11:59 pm (midnight) on Friday, March 11.

Therefore, unless we hear from the California Department of Public Health, the California Division of Occupational Safety & Health, or Lake County Public Health with more restrictive mandates (which is not expected), we will stop requiring indoor masking at schools as of Monday, March 14.

Let’s Be Patient With Each Other
All students and staff who wish to continue wearing masks may do so, and school sites will continue to provide masks for those who want them. Please remember that some of our youngest students have never been to school without a mask–and others have gotten used to the sense of safety and protection masks provide–so it may take some time for everyone to feel comfortable with this transition. If your student needs extra support, please communicate this with your student’s teacher and/or counselor. Let’s continue to be kind and respectful to each other as we continue to adjust to changing and challenging times.
