I am heartbroken by the news of the tragic school shooting in Texas yesterday. I can hardly imagine the anguish of the victims’ families, and of the school employees who spent every day with their colleague and those beautiful children.
Working with Law Enforcement
We pray we will never experience an active shooter on any of our campuses. Yet, we must be prepared for the possibility. We have strong partnerships with local law enforcement and other first responders, and we’ve worked collaboratively to create safety plans for all potential emergencies. We practice these plans with students and staff at our schools, so everyone knows how to respond in a crisis.

It is extremely important that our students follow adult direction during emergency situations. As superintendent, I am asking you, parents, to trust us to safeguard your precious children–to allow first responders and school staff to follow carefully planned actions that give us the best chance of keeping children safe.
