PRINCIPALS MESSAGE

Dear Parents,

As the semester draws to a close, finals week is quickly approaching (Dec. 20-22). This can be stressful for students preparing for exams and final projects. As parents, you can play an essential role in helping your students stay motivated and focused during this time.

Here are a few tips for motivating your students for finals:

  • Create a quiet and distraction-free study space at home. Ensure your child has a desk or table to study without interruption. This space should be well-lit and non-distracting.
  • Establish a regular study schedule and stick to it. This will help your child stay on track and avoid procrastination. Please help them to create a schedule that is realistic and achievable.
  • Encourage your child to take breaks and get enough sleep. Studying for long periods without breaks can be counterproductive. Help your child develop a healthy study routine with exercise, snacks, and breaks.
  • Provide your child with healthy meals and snacks. Eating healthy foods will help your student to stay focused and energized. Avoid sugary drinks and processed foods, which can lead to energy crashes.
  • Be positive and supportive. Let your child know you believe in them and are confident they will do their best. Avoid putting too much pressure on them, as this can backfire.

In addition to these tips, you can also help your student to stay motivated by:

  • Celebrating their accomplishments. Let your student know that you are proud of their hard work.
  • Helping them to set realistic goals. Break down large tasks into smaller, more manageable ones.
  • Teaching them stress-management techniques. Many methods can help students manage stress, such as yoga, meditation, and deep breathing exercises.

By following these tips, you can help your students to stay motivated and focused during finals week. Remember, your support is invaluable to them.
