About Lower Lake High School

Lower Lake High School (LLHS) is a comprehensive high school serving students in grades 8 through 12 in the heart of Lake County, California. On a 27 acre site, it is located just 107 miles North of San Francisco. Lake County provides the perfect geological environment for our students to enjoy a varied array of outdoor activities and intramural sports year-round. With a diverse student population of 968 and over 40 faculty members on-site, our students are encouraged to and supported in exploring their unique talents and interests.

Academic Opportunities

Students, in pursuit of academic excellence, have the opportunity to participate in an assortment of curricular activities designed to encourage the intellectual development of minds, the journey of self discovery, and personal growth through creative expression.

Since the staff is familiar with the merits of advanced planning, we believe that high school is the beginning of a career. In addition to selecting from electives such as classes designed to introduce students to particular fields, students can also enjoy the unique opportunity to reach out into the community through a variety of job shadowing programs which link the school with the diverse professional resources available in this unique location. These programs allow students to supplement their classroom learning with practical experience and onsite training in all fields ranging from Visual & Performing Arts to Culinary Arts and Child Development to Automotive (just to name a few).
