PRINCIPAL MESSAGE

Daylight-Saveings

Spring is around the corner!

While it takes a few days to get used to, I love this time of year. Longer days mean more opportunities for golf; you have to love it.

Our commitment to growth extends beyond the classroom. We encourage all students to participate in our spring extracurricular activities, which range from clubs that will undertake projects to beautify our school and community to sports teams that promise to bring us together in healthy competition.

To our parents and guardians, your partnership has always been invaluable in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment. We look forward to continuing our collaboration this spring and welcome your involvement in school events and initiatives.

As we move forward into this vibrant season, let's carry with us the lessons learned in the past year, using them as stepping stones towards achieving our goals. Let's nurture the seeds of knowledge and friendship we've planted and watch them bloom into something beautiful.

Here's to a bright, joyful, and prosperous spring for our school Trojan family!

KUSD SOCIAL MEDIA

Let's talk about a crucial aspect of our children's digital journey: understanding the balance between social media and reality.

It's a wild digital world out there, and here are some friendly tips:

Reality Check on Social Media:

  • Fear of Missing Out (FOMO): Remind your kids that social media is a highlight reel, not the full story. Everyone has their ups and downs!
  • Exclusion: Emphasize the importance of genuine friendships over digital popularity. Quality beats quantity, always.
  • Media Overload: Encourage a healthy balance. Too much screen time can be overwhelming. Breaks are necessary for a happy mind.
  • Beauty Standards: Talk about filters, edits, and the beauty of being authentic. Real beauty shines from within!
  • Comparison Game: Remind them that each person's journey is unique. It's okay to be inspired but not to feel less-than.

Ways to Overcome Challenges:

  • Open Conversations: Create a safe space for them to share their feelings about social media. Honest chats go a long way!
  • Digital Detox: Encourage breaks from screens. Outdoor activities and face-to-face interactions are priceless.
  • Positive Role Models: Help them follow accounts that promote positivity, self-love, and diversity.
  • Gratitude Practice: Foster a sense of appreciation for what they have and who they are, instead of what they lack.
  • Self-Love: Remind them daily that they are enough just as they are.

Let's raise a generation that uses social media as a tool for connection, inspiration, and self-expression.
