Lewis Families and HS Students,

Call for Graduation Speech Volunteers

As we approach the pinnacle of your high school journey, the graduation ceremony stands as a momentous occasion to reflect on your collective achievements and bid farewell to this chapter of your lives. I believe that each of you possesses unique perspectives and experiences worth sharing with your fellow graduates, families, and faculty.

With that in mind, we are extending an invitation to any senior student who would like to deliver a speech at our graduation ceremony. Whether you wish to inspire, motivate, or simply share your reflections on the journey we have undertaken together, this is your opportunity to leave a lasting impact on your graduating class.

Let your voice be heard as we celebrate the culmination of your high school experience and embark on the next chapter of your lives. Together, let's make our graduation ceremony a truly memorable and inspiring event.

If you are interested in delivering a speech, please reach out to Ashley, your academic counselor, at ashley.hediger@konoctiusd.org

Attention Seniors-Financial Aid Workshop for College

We will be hosting a financial aid workshop next week for graduating seniors who are interested in attending college. Together we will complete either the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) application or CA DREAM Act application. These are two of the largest providers of financial aid for college in the US, and this application will help students become eligible for grants and scholarships as well as student loans and work-study opportunities.

The workshop will be held on Wednesday May 15th and Thursday May 16th from 1:30pm - 3:30pm in the Carle' High School Library. Students only need to attend one day of the workshop, not both. Please contact Ashley Hediger if you have any questions at 707-994-1033 ext. 2826 or by email at ashley.hediger@konoctiusd.org

Lower Lake Daze Parade & Street Fair

Come out and enjoy a fun filled day on Sunday, May 26th from 10am to 3pm. Parade is at 11am.

Screen-Free Time

Here are some benefits of prioritizing screen-free time:

  1. Family Bonding: Sharing laughs, stories, and adventures with family creates lasting memories and strengthens relationships. From cozy movie nights to outdoor adventures, these moments foster love and support that no screen can replicate.
  2. Social Bonding with Friends: Building friendships offline nurtures empathy, communication skills, and emotional intelligence. Whether it's playing together at the park, engaging in sports, or simply having a heart-to-heart chat, these experiences shape our children's social development in profound ways.
  3. Meaningful Conversations: Face-to-face conversations teach children the art of listening, empathy, and understanding non-verbal cues. These skills are essential for building strong relationships and navigating life's challenges with confidence.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork: Engaging in group activities promotes teamwork, problem-solving, and conflict resolution skills. Whether it's building a fort with siblings or working on a group project with friends, collaboration fosters a sense of belonging and achievement.
  5. Creativity and Imagination: Unplugged play sparks creativity and imagination in ways that screens cannot. From building forts to staging impromptu performances, children tap into their limitless imagination and discover new passions.

Let's create a world where genuine connections thrive and memories are cherished for a lifetime! #UnplugAndConnect

Blue Zones Project

Along with all Konocti Unified schools, ours is working towards becoming Blue Zones Project Approved. The Blue Zones Project is based on the belief that when we make it easier to choose healthy options, people do! And healthy choices help us feel better and live longer. Becoming Blue Zones Project Approved will include adopting policies, programs, and strategies to promote health and increase student engagement. Data show that healthier students earn higher test scores, have higher attendance rates, and tend to be more resilient and socially connected. We’re in the planning phase now, and you’ll see some changes next year.
