At Konocti Unified School District, we believe that open communication between families and schools is essential for student success. We are committed to addressing your questions and concerns in a timely, respectful, and effective manner. Our goal is to resolve issues at the most appropriate level while maintaining positive relationships that support your child's educational experience.

We encourage you to use the following step-by-step process to ensure your concerns receive proper attention and resolution. Most issues can be resolved quickly through direct communication with school staff, and we're here to help guide you to the right person.

How can I get the support I need?

We are dedicated to serving you and your student's educational needs. If you would like to file a Title IX complaint or a Uniform Complaint Procedure, please visit the relevant webpage for further instructions.

For all other questions or concerns, please follow these supportive steps below.

Step 1 - Conect With Your Child's Teacher

When to contact: Questions about classroom activities, homework, your child's academic progress, behavior in class, or daily classroom experiences.

Please allow for 24 weekday hours to receive a response.

Step 2 - Connect with the Assistant Principal/Principal

When to contact: School-wide policies, scheduling issues, safety concerns, or if you need additional support beyond the classroom level.

How to reach out: Contact by email or phone. The assistant principal/principal may also connect you with the school counselor if that would be most helpful.

Response time: 24 weekday hours

Step 3 - Connect with the District Administrator/Director

When to contact: District-wide programs, specialized services, transportation, nutrition services, or policies that affect multiple schools.

How to reach out: Contact the District Office and your question will be directed to the appropriate department director. Please include details about previous conversations to help us assist you better.

Response time: 24 weekday hours

Step 4 - Connect with the Assistant Superintendent

When to contact: Complex issues involving multiple departments, curriculum questions, or when you need leadership perspective on district operations.

How to reach out: Contact the relevant assistant superintendent by email or phone for their area of expertise.

Response time: 24 weekday hours

Step 5 - Connect with the Superintendent's Office

When to contact: District leadership matters, policy suggestions, or complex situations requiring executive attention.

The superintendent values input from families and may arrange for a phone or in-person meeting. These meetings may involve relevant staff members to ensure comprehensive support.

Connect with the Board of Trustees

When to contact: Policy recommendations, community concerns, or when you want to share your voice in public forum.

Board Members serve the interests of the entire Konocti Unified School District and have been elected by community members like you. You may contact a Board Member directly or make a public comment at a scheduled Board Meeting.

Formal Complaint Process

If you have gone through the informal process and find yourself at the point of needing to file a formal complaint, we are here to help.

You may review all board policies and administrative regulations to determine what type of complaint process you may want to file. Please review the documents and proceed with filing the appropriate form.
