Happy Monday LLES families!

CalFresh Healthy Living Corner

March is National Nutrition Month®! This year’s theme is Beyond the Table, an important reminder that healthy food choices go beyond typical meals eaten sitting down at the table. Eating on the go, snacks, farmer’s markets, or growing your food all involve food choosing food that can affect your long-term health.

Here are some tips for smart snacking tips for kids:

  • Blend low-fat milk, frozen strawberries, and a banana for 30 seconds for a delicious smoothie
  • Mini-pizza: toast a whole wheat English muffin, drizzle with pizza sauce, and sprinkle with low-fat mozzarella cheese
  • Dip slices of fruit into low-fat vanilla yogurt
  • Whip up mini muffins using healthy ingredients like whole grain flour and pureed fruits
  • Spread celery sticks with smooth nut butter or low-fat cream cheese. Top with raisins. Enjoy your “ants on a log”

Parent Pick Up

Parents are to park across the street. The Bus Loading Zone, Fire Lanes, and cemetery are not parking areas or drop-off zones. These areas are designated for Buses and Emergency personnel or cause issues with school operations. This includes when you are picking your student(s) up from the After School Program (ASP).

Guests on Campus

Our visitor sign system (Raptor) is up and running again. Soon the pink sign-in sheets will no longer be utilized for visitors to sign in. A Federal or state-issued identification card will be required to sign in. To ease the transition we are asking that you register in the Attendance Office the next time you are on campus so that you can use the self kiosk any time after that. The safety of our students is a priority and the Raptor system will help us with this. Thank you for understanding.

Absent Students

If your child is sick or absent for any reason, please call the Office or respond to the notification you receive from Aeries and let us know. If you get a doctor’s note, please send a copy to lorena.guzman@konoctiusd.org Click on this link for more information https://konoctiusd.org/District/Portal/health-wellness
