A Message From Principal Serpa:

With just 8 days left of school, there is so much to do and so much to celebrate! Below is a list of different activities that will occur over the next few days. Some classes and grade levels will be holding their own celebrations as they say good-bye to 2023-24. If you plan to contribute goodies to such celebrations, please do your best to bring healthy snacks. Our children are already overloaded with sugar, artificial coloring and processed foods.

Open House & Talent Show:

We have 25 students who auditioned for the Talent Show! I will be working with each of them to get them ready for the show on May 30th. This is also the night of our Open House. We will start with Open House at 4:00 and transition to the Talent Show at 4:30 on the blacktop. Parents, please respect the school rules. Smoking / vaping is not allowed on campus and do not stand on chairs / tables. Our Parent Teacher Club will be selling snacks. We hope to see you all here!

Behaviors:

Whether it’s the warm weather or end of year, student behaviors especially in the upper grades are becoming worrisome. With fights, disrespect towards staff, vaping and other poor decisions, we are genuinely concerned about our students. Students who misbehave may risk participation in the end of year activities such as the Escape Rooms, Slime Run, Field Day and more. Now, we are hearing some students are talking about fighting during the last days of school. Please talk to your students. Violence is not an acceptable way to handle conflict at school, home or in the community. Neither is profanity or use of racial slurs. Remind your children if they hear something, say something. We want to keep all of our Tigers safe and everyone deserves to be respected.

Last Day of School

The last day of school is Friday, June 7th. School gets out at 12:42. We will gather out front for the annual ringing of the historic bell located above the offices! The After School Program will not be open on the last day of school. Please pick up your children on time.

After School Program 2024-25:

It’s time to start thinking about next year’s after school program. The ASP runs until 6:00 daily. They do all sorts of fun activities as well as provide homework support.
