6.3.2024 Weekly Principal's Message

Principle Ms. Lauren Milano

A Message From Principal Serpa:

The last week of school always makes me feel a mixture of happiness and sadness. This year, those feelings are especially true. It is with this mixture of emotions that Ms. Schoneman and I both say good-bye to our time at Burns Valley. We have each accepted new positions with the district and will be leaving after this week. For me, being able to return to Burns Valley as an administrator was a great joy and allowed me to give back to the school that gave me and my family so much growing up. Again, thank you for allowing us the opportunity to help your children grow and learn. Ms. Schoneman and I (and Tiger) will miss them tremendously!

Welcome Principal Milano:

We would like to officially welcome Ms. Lauren Milano as the new Principal for Burns Valley. Ms. Milano will be transferring here from Pomo Elementary School. She will also be the administrator for Summer School, so if your child is attending be sure to introduce yourself as a Tiger. Welcome to the Tiger family Ms. Milano. At this time, a replacement Assistant Principal to replace Ms. Schoneman has not been selected.

Art Contest:

Who knew we had so many amazing artists at BV! We will be handing out awards and ribbons this week to go along with last week’s Art Contest. We hope you had an opportunity to look at them during Open House and the Talent Show. We will be submitting all of the artwork to the Lake County Fair to display at the fair in September. Only art that has a permission slip with it will be submitted.

Slime Run:

Wednesday is our Slime Run. Only students with a permission slip will be allowed to participate. We have a limited number of sprayers. If you would like to help spray the students, please let Ms. Serpa know before Wednesday. Parents are welcome to come watch. You will need to bring a valid ID to the office and get a visitors pass on the day of. If you bring another child with you, sorry they will not be allowed to participate. We are moving the event to our field instead of Haverty Field due to water access. Be sure to send your child with a TOWEL AND CHANGE OF CLOTHES!

Schedule: TK-1 @ 12:25, 2-3 @ 12:50, 4-6 @ 1:15
