12/18/2023 Weekly Principal's Message

A Message From Principal Serpa:

Winter is definitely here! As you may have noticed this morning, we have quite a few puddles around campus. Remind your students to stay out of puddles the best they can. Nobody wants to be in wet socks all day. With this rain comes poor visibility especially in the mornings during drop off. Please drive slower than usual and give yourself extra time if dropping your child off in front. Watch for the crossing guard and be extra vigilant about watching for children crossing the road. On days like today, we call “rainy day recess”. This means your child will be inside for recesses, before school and during PE. The rain is expected to last through Wednesday. Stay dry friends.

Sing Along:

The Winter Sing Along will take place in the MPR on Friday at 9:00. Due to the cold weather, we will hold it inside this year in a caroling format. Chairs will be set up for families. Students will enter by grade level, sing their song and then exit for the next class to enter. We hope you can join us!

Lost and Found:

All of the lost and found will be hung on the fence Friday morning. Please take a look and see if you recognize anything. Each month we have around 100 items in the lost and found. Please put your child’s name on their jacket to make sure it gets returned.

Parent Teacher Club:

PTC is selling holiday pencil grams for 50 cents out of the library. There will be a PTC meeting on Tuesday at 5:00 in the library. Everyone is welcome! Come help plan activities.

Friday:

This Friday is a minimum day. School gets out at 12:42. The after school program is CLOSED. All students need to be picked up by 12:42.

Winter Break:

This is our last week before break. We will be closed December 23 - January 8. School will resume on Tuesday, January 9th.

Winter Break Reading Log:

Before Winter Break ALL students will receive in their AVID binders a reading log. Parents please encourage your children to read at least 20 minutes a day. Have your children write the name of the book and they read, and parents initial the page. All students that return the reading log to the Office on Jan 9th will get a reading prize!
