Good afternoon Konocti Staff and Families, this is Becky Salato, Superintendent.

Forward progress on the Cache Fire has stopped. Fire crews remain on-scene to prevent flare-ups and begin clean-up.

The following schools will remain closed tomorrow (Friday, August 20) Lower Lake High School (LLHS), Lower Lake Elementary School (LLES), Carle, Blue Heron, and Highlands Academy. Friday through Sunday we will clean and disinfect horizontal surfaces, hepa-vacuum carpets, clean and disinfect bathrooms, and change HVAC filters, to assure a safe return for our students and staff.

Thankfully, there was no structural damage to any of our schools.

We hope to reopen the affected schools listed above on Monday, August 23. All other Konocti Unified schools will reopen tomorrow (Friday, August 20). We remain without electricity in many areas, so please be patient while we will do our best to be responsive.

Our hearts go out to all those who lost their homes in the fire.
