Superintendent’s Message

From Superintendent Donna Becnel

On behalf of the Board of Education and the outstanding staff of the Konocti Unified School District, I welcome you. Our mission is to provide students an engaging curriculum, high quality staff and learning experiences which prepare them to succeed in a diverse and ever-changing society. We provide a safe and supportive environment nurturing innovation and individuality. We have built partnerships with parents and the community which support student learning. Our programs continue to grow and are responsive to individual student needs.

As a district, we are continually striving to provide a state-of-the-art learning environment for our students and staff. Students are engaged in Common Core Lessons including project based learning. In the primary grades iPads are in use and we have a 1-3 ratio of Chromebooks to students district-wide. Lower Lake High School offers an unprecedented college and career pathways for a rural high school.  The LLHS pathways include: 1) Health-Medical-Child Development Education – Emergency Services (SERVE Academy) 2) Arts-Media- Entertainment 3) Engineering- Architecture, and 4) Hospitality – Tourism – Recreation – Agriculture.

We are very proud of the direction of the district, but recognize that it takes the hard work and dedication of our staff, students, parents and community to develop a quality school district. I look forward to working with all of you in the years to come as we educate our students for their future.
