Summer Food Program Feeds Kids For Free

 

 

apple pic LAKE COUNTY- With summer time, it’s time to think about keeping healthy while school is out. Konocti Unified School District provides free meals to children during the summer.

This summer, meals will be served at three different locations. Meals will be served Monday thru Friday, June 13, 2015-July 15, 2015. There are no income requirements or registration.  Any child under 18 may come to eat. For more information, contact Mandy Lopez- 707-994-4543.

  -Pomo Elementary School, 3550 Acacia St. Clearlake, Ca.

 Breakfast 8:15-9:00 AM       Lunch 11:45-12:30 PM

 -Lower Lake High School, 9430-A Lake St. Lower Lake, Ca.

 Breakfast 8:15-9:00 AM       Lunch 12:00-12:30 PM

 -First Baptist Church of Clearlake, 14550 Pearl Ave., Clearlake, Ca.

 Will only serve lunch 11:30-12:30 PM

Each year the U.S. Department of Agriculture partners with local organizations like Konocti Unified School District to provide free meals to children when school is out for the summer. For more information about the national Summer Food Service Program, visit http://www.fns.usda.gov/cnd/summer.

In accordance with Federal civil rights law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) civil rights regulations and policies, the USDA, its agencies, offices, and employees, and institutions participating in or administering USDA programs are prohibited from discriminating based on race, color, national origin, sex, disability, age, or reprisal or retaliation for prior civil rights activity in any program or activity conducted or funded by USDA.

 

Persons with disabilities who require alternative means of communication for program information (e.g. Braille, large print, audiotape, American Sign Language, etc.), should contact the Agency (State or local) where they applied for benefits.  Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339.  Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

 

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program DiscriminationComplaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call
